Shenzhen Xunlong has launched an open-spec, $12 “Orange Pi Lite” SBC with a with a quad-core Cortex-A7 SoC, 40-pin RPi expansion, camera input, and WiFi.

Shenzhen Xunlong continues to churn out new versions of old boards with slight adjustments in features and prices. In the case of the new Orange Pi Lite, the company took its ridiculously cheap Orange Pi One, and added WiFi and a USB port while removing the Ethernet port. The $12 board came to our attention via a CNX-Software post.

The open-spec, community-backed Orange Pi Lite has the same 69 x 48mm dimensions as the Orange Pi One, which is smaller than the more advanced, $15 Orange Pi PC. The Lite runs the same Linux and Android builds on the same quad-core Cortex-A7 Allwinner H3 SoC as the other two Orange Pi boards. Like the One, it’s clocked at 1.2GHz compare to 1.6GHz on the PC model. There’s also a Mali-400 MP2 GPU.

Except for the differences noted above, the Orange Pi Lite is identical to the Orange Pi One. It similarly provides 512MB of DDR3, plus a microSD slot, HDMI port, and a CSI camera input. There are dual USB host ports, a micro-USB OTG port, and a 40-pin expansion connector said to be compatible with the Raspberry Pi.
