Slim-height Apollo Lake signage player features triple M.2 slots

Mar 11, 2019 — by Eric Brown 342 views

Axiomtek’s Linux-friendly, “ultra-slim” DSP300-318 signage player has an Apollo Lake SoC, 2x GbE, HDMI and DP 4K displays, and 3x M.2 slots for storage and wireless.

Axiomtek has launched an Intel Apollo Lake based digital signage player promoted for its ultra-slim, 200 x 137.8 x 20mm dimensions. The DSP300-318’s dimensions are close to those of Ibase’s slim-height (19.5mm), Apollo Lake based SE-102-N player. The 4K-ready system is designed for space-constrained digital menu boards, self-ordering systems, retail applications, queuing systems, interactive kiosks, and video walls.

The DSP300-318 runs Ubuntu or Debian Linux or Windows 10 IoT on Intel’s dual-core, 1.1GHz Celeron N3350 or quad-core, 2.5GHz Pentium N4200. You can load up to 8GB of DDR3L-1600 via the dual RAM slots, and there’s an option for 64GB eMMC 5.0.

The DSP300-318 stands out with its triple M.2 slot design. In addition to an M.2 M-Key 2280 for storage, there’s an M.2 E-Key 2230 for WiFi and Bluetooth and an M.2 B-Key 3042 for 4G LTE. A SIM card slot and 4x antenna mounts are also available.

The DSP300-318 has a 12VDC terminal screw input, as well as power, reset, and remote switches. There’s also a watchdog timer and a Lithium 3 V/220 mAH battery. The fanless system supports 0 to 50°C temperatures and offers humidity resistance and 3 Grms vibration resistance with M.2 storage (5 to 500Hz, X, Y, Z).
