RDK X5 Development Kit Featuring HDMI, MIPI CSI, and Gigabit Ethernet

Mar 18, 2025 — by Giorgio Mendoza 312 views

The RDK X5 is a development kit designed for intelligent computing and robotics. It features a form factor similar to the Raspberry Pi single board computer but is powered by the 10 TOPS Sunrise 5 processor.

The RDK X5 includes an octa-core Cortex-A55 CPU running at 1.5 GHz, a dedicated BPU with 10 TOPS of processing power, and a GPU capable of delivering 32 GFLOPS.

The board supports a range of multimedia processing features, including H.265 (HEVC) Main Profile @ L5.1 and H.264 (AVC) Baseline/Constrained Baseline/Main/High Profiles @ L5.2 with SVC-T encoding. It enables H.265 and H.264 encoding and decoding at up to 3840×2160 resolution at 60 frames per second.

Key display and camera features include dual 4-lane MIPI CSI for cameras, an HDMI port supporting 1080p60 resolution, and a MIPI DSI 4-lane interface for additional display options.
