Nov 10, 2024 — by Giorgio Mendoza 325 views

Radxa recently introduced a compact networking device powered by the hexacore Rockchip RK3582 System-on-Chip. This new model builds on the design of the previous Radxa E20C but features dual 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, enhancing its networking capabilities.

The Radxa E52C is built on the Rockchip RK3582 SoC, which includes a 6-core CPU composed of a dual-core ARM Cortex-A76 and a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55. The device also features an NPU capable of 5 TOPs, supporting INT4, INT8, INT16, FP16, and BF16 data types.

According to the specifications, the device is available with 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB of LPDDR4x memory and 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of eMMC storage.

A key difference from the Radxa E20C, covered last month, is that this new model comes equipped with dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports compared to the dual GbE ports on the E20C. Like the Radxa E20C, this board does not include Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capabilities.

Additional features of this product include a USB Type-C port for debugging, a USB 3.0 Type-A port for data transfer, and expandable storage options via a microSD slot. Documentation for this product is not yet available, but it is accessible for the previous E20C model.

The board has a compact form factor, measuring 72mm x 72mm x 30mm, with an aluminum alloy case designed for thermal management. Radxa recommends operating the device within a temperature limit of 80°C to avoid throttling.

Further information

Radxa announced on Twitter that the E52C would start at $55.00. The model with 2GB RAM and 16GB eMMC storage is currently available for approximately $56.06 on AliExpress and $55.00 on Arace Tech. Versions with higher RAM and eMMC storage capacities are not yet available as of this publication date.
