Milk-V recently unveiled the technical specifications of the Milk-V Megrez, a RISC-V AI PC powered by the ESWIN EIC7700X System-on-Chip. This system supports LPDDR5 memory, features a PCIe x8 connector, and offers a variety of storage options, serving as a versatile platform for advanced computing tasks.

The Milk-V Megrez incorporates the ESWIN EIC7700X SoC, featuring a quad-core SiFive P550 CPU with a 1.6 GHz clock speed, adhering to the RISC-V RV64CG instruction set.

The device’s GPU supports OpenGL ES 3.2, EGL 1.4, OpenCL 1.2 and 2.1 EP2, and Vulkan 1.2, facilitating demanding applications such as gaming and graphic design. Its NPU provides a powerful 19.95 TOPS for INT8 operations for machine learning tasks.

 

Storage features include an SPI Flash for booting, an M.2 M Key connector for NVMe SSDs through PCIe 2.0 x2, an eMMC connector, and a microSD card slot. The device offers memory options from 8 GB to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 6400 MT/s.

Multimedia capabilities are comprehensive, supporting HEVC (H.265) and AVC (H.264) encoding and decoding. The system can decode video up to 8K at 50 fps or manage 32 channels of 1080p at 30 fps and encode up to 8K at 25 fps or 13 channels of 1080p at 30 fps, also supporting JPEG decoding up to 32K x 32K dimensions.

 

Connectivity includes a Gigabit Ethernet port, Wi-Fi/BT module onboard, four USB3 HOST ports, and two F_USB3 ports. The device also features an HDMI 2.0 port for display and dual 3.5mm jacks for audio input and output, alongside front panel audio connections.
