M5Stack has introduced the PowerHub, a compact IoT controller designed for distributed power and device management. The ESP32-based PowerHub is described as providing a stable and flexible control platform that integrates communication interfaces, modular power input options, and precise monitoring capabilities.

The PowerHub is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1U-N16R8 module featuring a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor running up to 240 MHz, 16 MB of Flash, and 8 MB of PSRAM. It incorporates an STM32G031G8U6 coprocessor and several INA226 voltage and current detection ICs for accurate power management. Additionally, the system supports low-power timed wake-up functions and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for network connectivity.

For power flexibility, the device supports DC (9–20 V), 2S lithium battery, and PWR485 or PWR CAN inputs. Connectivity options include RS485 and CAN bus interfaces with integrated 120 Ω termination switches, two HY2.0-4P Grove ports, and a 2.54-16P expansion header.

A USB Type-C port handles programming and OTG functions, while an internal USB switch routes data between the bottom and front USB Type-A/Type-C ports to accommodate peripheral devices.

The device includes three physical buttons, multiple status LEDs, and an 8-LED WS2812 RGB array for indication. Its enclosure measures 88 × 56 × 38.5 mm and supports magnetic attachment, wall mounting, LEGO holes, and M2 screw installation. M5Stack notes that the base unit weighs 71 g, or 170 g when equipped with the optional NP-F550 2000 mAh battery.
