Stealth.com has launched a tiny, Ubuntu-ready “LPC-175F” mini-PC with a quad-core Atom E3845, dual GbE ports, and -20 to 70°C support.

The 145 x 84 x 35mm LPC-175F is one of the smallest mini-PCs ever built by Stealth.com. By comparison, its 250 x 146 x 42mm and up, Intel 3rd Gen. Core based LPC480x mini-PC series seems more like a maxi-PC series.

The LPC-175F is also the smallest Atom E3845 based mini-PC we’ve covered. The rugged models among them include Adlink’s 210 x 170 x 70mm Matrix MXE-1400, Axiomtek’s 200 x 120 x 56mm eBOX620-841-FL, VIA’s 185 x 162 x 44.4mm VIA Artigo A1300, and the 203.2 x 127 x 63.5mm SYS-405Q from WinSystems.

The fanless, aluminum chassis LPC-175F runs Ubuntu Linux or Windows on a 1.91GHz, quad-core Atom E3845 SoC, with a lower power consumption than the LPC480x. Stealth.com doesn’t say how low, but the 22nm Bay Trail chip itself has a 10W TDP. The LPC-175F also offers a wider, -20 to 70°C temperature range. The computer is aimed at rugged applications including embedded control, digital signage, interactive kiosks, thin clients, and HMI devices.

The base price, which is $1,095 with Windows 7, but only $1,000 with Ubuntu, includes 4GB of DDR3L RAM and a 64GB mSATA SSD via one of the two mini-PCIe interfaces. You get two GbE ports, plus an optional 802.11ac/Bluetooth module that uses up the second mini-PCIe slot. Other features include VGA, serial, and dual USB 2.0 ports, all available via the back panel.

Other rugged, Ubuntu-ready Stealth.com mini-PCs include the fan-equipped, 166 x 157.5 x 48mm LPC-681, which costs twice as much as the LPC-175F, but offers a more powerful 4th Gen “Haswell” Core i7 CPU.

There’s also an older, much larger, waterproof WPC-525F mini-PC with an old-school, dual-core “Pineview” Atom D525 processor. Stealth.com also offers several other older, Ubuntu-friendly mini-PC designs introduced back when it was called Stealth Computer.
