LILYGO’s T-Echo Plus is a compact, battery-powered smart tag designed for wireless telemetry, motion tracking, and geolocation. It combines LoRa communication, GNSS positioning, Bluetooth Mesh, and a 6-axis IMU in an enclosure with both vibration and visual feedback, aiming to support mobile, field-deployed, or remote monitoring applications.

The device uses the nRF52840 SoC from Nordic Semiconductor, a 64 MHz Arm Cortex-M4F microcontroller with hardware floating-point support. This SoC supports multiple wireless standards including Bluetooth 5, Bluetooth Mesh, Thread, Zigbee, ANT, NFC, and IEEE 802.15.4, offering flexibility for various IoT networking protocols and topologies.

Equipped with 2MB of Flash and 2MB of RAM, the T-Echo Plus also supports over-the-air updates and advanced power management features.

The device integrates a Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver, supporting global sub-GHz frequency bands including 433 MHz, 868 MHz, 915 MHz, and 920 MHz. For positioning, it uses the L76K GNSS module with multi-constellation support (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS).

Motion sensing is enabled through a BHI260AP IMU, connected via I²C, which offers AI-enhanced 6-axis inertial sensing.

The unit includes a 1.54-inch SPI-based E-Paper display (200×200 resolution, 2-level grayscale) for status output, with a full refresh time of 2 seconds. Feedback mechanisms include a buzzer and a vibration motor.

The system is powered by a 2400mAh lithium battery, and a Grove expansion port provides additional I/O. Physically, the T-Echo Plus features a climbing-style clip, ¼-inch tripod mount, and M2 screw holes for secure attachment.

T-Echo Plus Peripherals

The T-Echo Plus comes preloaded with LILYGO factory firmware, supporting basic LoRa messaging, GNSS position retrieval, BLE functions, and feedback peripherals. Firmware and documentation are typically published through LILYGO’s official GitHub repositories.

Earlier versions of the T-Echo series have been compatible with the Meshtastic firmware, but as of this writing, the official Meshtastic website does not yet list the T-Echo Plus among its supported devices.
