December Updates for DietPi v9.9:

New Device Support:

  • Orange Pi 5 Pro: Added support for this variant, featuring onboard Wi-Fi 5, dual HDMI, an eMMC slot, and NVMe SSD support (up to 2280 format).
  • Orange Pi 5 Max: Introduced compatibility for this upgraded model with Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5G Ethernet.
  • NanoPi M6: Supported now with enhancements for the RK3588 SoC, offering lower idle power usage compared to earlier NanoPi models. The optional metal case includes a built-in LCD display, configurable via device tree overlay in dietpi-config.

DietPi Tools and Software Improvements:

  • Virtual Machines: systemd-logind is now enabled by default, allowing proper shutdown and reboot functionality from virtualization software.
  • DietPi-DDNS: Introduced the ability to configure both IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously, improving accessibility. Server responses and connection errors are now logged for easier debugging.

  • Sonarr: Version 4 is now the default installation. ARMv6 devices remain on Version 3 due to architecture constraints.

Bug Fixes

  • NanoPi M1 Plus: Addressed Ethernet connectivity issues caused by a faulty kernel patch.
  • InfluxDB: Resolved service startup problems following a recent package upgrade, restoring symlink functionality.
  • Node-RED: Fixed compatibility for ARMv6 systems by reverting to Version 3 for older models.
  • Chromium: Corrected script execution issues caused by incompatible syntax, ensuring optional flags are properly applied.
  • frp: Fixed parsing errors in server address and port inputs during configuration.

Why version 9.7 in title, but 9.9 is the actual release?

  2. Giorgio Mendoza says:

My bad, I used the August Dietpi article as a template. I corrected the title.
