Home Assistant project launches its own Raspberry Pi CM4 carrier

The Home Assistant project has opened pre-orders on an open-spec, $149 “Home Assistant Amber” system based on an RPI CM4 with GbE, 3x USB, ZigBee, and M.2 M-key. $99 kit versions without the CM4 include a PoE model.

Xilinx unveils rugged additions to Versal ACAP

Xilinx announced ultra-rugged mil-aero (XQ) and space (XQR) versions of its Arm/Linux-driven, 7nm Versal ACAP SoCs, as well as a Kria Robotics Stack and Vitis Video Analytics SDK for its Zynq UltraScale+ customers.

Adlink spins edge vision SDK for Nvidia and Intel

Adlink announced an Ubuntu-ready “Edge Vision Analytics” (EVA) SDK with a GUI-based IDE and open source plug-ins for Nvidia and Intel systems. EVA is initially available with its Neon-2000-JNX camera and EOS-i6000-P computer.

LibreELEC 10 delivers Kodi 19.1 and Raspberry Pi 4 enhancements

The LibreELEC 10.0 Linux distro has been released with Kodi (Matrix) v19.1 media center software. It switches to Python 3 and brings HDR 10 and audio passthrough to the RPi 4.

Pantabox offers easier frontend for Pantavisor Linux IoT container software

Nvidia’s TensorRT 8.0 boasts faster conversational AI performance

Nvidia has released TensorRT 8.0 for Nvidia GPUs including its Jetson modules. This latest AI inference optimization SDK delivers up to 2x the natural language query performance compared to v7.0, with 1.2ms latency using BERT.

T-shirt design contest celebrates 30 years of Linux

Wind River Linux updates with Linux LTS 5.10 and a prebuilt binary

MicroK8s footprint shrinks by a third for easier Pi and Jetson clusters

Nvidia launches TAO software for easier AI model training

Nvidia unveiled a GUI-based “TAO” framework that eases AI model training for GPU-equipped platforms such as Jetson. There is also an upcoming “Grace” CPU plus improvements to Nvidia’s Jarvis voice agent, Maxine video SDK, and other AI tools.
