May 18, 2025 — by Giorgio Mendoza 331 views

Avaota has recently shared details about the C1, a compact single-board computer in the Raspberry Pi A form factor. Based on the Allwinner H618 processor, the board is a variant of the Yuzuki Chameleon and expands the Avaota SBC lineup with a small-footprint, feature-rich design aimed at embedded development and multimedia applications.

Based on the watermark on the board, the device appears to be a collaboration between Avaota and Pine64. The Avaota C1 features a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU with 64-bit architecture and a multi-core Mali G31 GPU. The graphics processor supports OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan 1.1. Video decoding capabilities include 6K at 30 frames per second for H.265-encoded content and 4K at 60 frames per second for H.265, VP9, and AVS2.

The board also supports low-latency 4K H.264 encoding at 25 frames per second and is compatible with HDR10 and HLG. Image quality is enhanced with Allwinner’s SmartColor 3.3 picture engine.

According to the Wiki page, the board will support up to 1GB of RAM and offer up to 128GB of onboard eMMC storage. A MicroSD card slot is available for additional storage. Wireless connectivity is provided by the onboard AIC8800DC module supporting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and there is also a 100 megabit Ethernet port for wired networking.

Peripheral support includes four USB Type-C ports, with three serving as host ports and one supporting OTG, all capable of handling USB cameras and capture card inputs. The C1 also includes a 40-pin GPIO header that can be used to interface with SPI displays, microphones, temperature and humidity sensors, CAN transceivers, and other components.

The board also includes mounting points for a fan and heatsink and uses the AXP313A for power management.

Further Information

The Avaota C1 has not yet been released, and pricing details remain unannounced; as of publication, the only available information is the Wiki page on the Avaota site. For reference, the Yuzuki Chameleon launched in 2024 with a price of $25.
