Apollo Lake Pico-ITX SBC has dual GbE ports and plenty of options

Aaeon has spun another Pico-ITX form-factor SBC featuring Intel Apollo Lake processors, following the PICO-APL3 and earlier PICO-APL1. Unlike those SBCs, the new PICO-APL4 has dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, among other minor changes.

As before, there’s a choice between Intel’s dual-core, 1.1GHz Celeron N3550 or quad-core, 1.1GHz Pentium N4200. A Linux driver is listed among the several Windows drivers. You can load 2GB or 4GB of DDR3L and 16GB to 64GB of eMMC storage.

In addition to the 2x GbE ports (Realtek 8111G) with Wake-on-LAN, coastline ports include 2x USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI 1.4b with up to 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz. An eDP interface with the same resolution at 60Hz is optional, and you can add a DDI display interface if you choose the option for Aaeon’s homegrown BIO I/O interface and then populate it with a DDI add-on.

The PICO-APL4 is equipped with dual USB 2.0 headers and a SATA III interface with 5V reserved power. You get an M.2 2280 B Key slot for storage, and an M.2 2230 E-Key slot for wireless or I/O add-ons.
Other features include RS-232/422/485, RS-232, I2C, SMBus, 4-bit DIO, a watchdog, and a 12V AT/ATX input with “lockable & Phoenix terminal co-lay.” The 100 x 72mm SBC can safely operate at 0 to 60˚C temperatures.

Options include a heatsink, heatspreader, and a CPU cooler. Although not mentioned on the product page or datasheet, the announcement also mentions and option for MIPI-CSI.
