Android HDMI-stick mini-PC includes Ethernet port

Sep 19, 2013 — by Eric Brown 16,594 views

Zhongshan Gosinggo has begun selling a 4.1 x 1.5 x 0.6-inch Android 4.1 mini-PC that includes both WiFi and Ethernet ports. The Gosinggo GSG-TB-06 is equipped with a 1GHz Allwinner A10 processor and Mali-400 GPU, as well as 1GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 32GB of flash, an HDMI port, and dual USB ports.

There’s only so much you can add to an HDMI dongle before it can no longer extend from your TV’s HDMI port and needs to stand alone. Guangdong, China based Zhongshan Gosinggo calls its Gosinggo GSG-TB-06 computer a mini-PC, yet it looks like an oversized (105 x 37 x 15.6mm) HDMI stick computer, and appears like it might be able to plug directly into an HDTV. Whether it would stay there without toppling over from its own weight and size is another question. If nothing else, it’s easily pocketable.

Unlike most Android-based HDMI dongle computers, such as the Rockchip-based Rikomagic MK802III, the Gosinggo GSG-TB-06 not only offers a second USB port, but features an Ethernet port for those users whose WiFi connections are not up to snuff.

The GSG-TB-06 offers a less powerful processor than most stick computers, using a single-core, Cortex-A8 based Allwinner A10 SoC clocked to 1GHz. Yet, it’s equipped with a Mali-400 GPU and runs a reasonably up-to-date Android 4.1 build.

There’s only 1GB of DDR3 RAM, but the standard 4GB of flash can be upgraded to 32GB, and that’s not counting what you can add via the microSD slot. Dual USB ports are available, one of which is listed as the rarely seen USB 1.0. In addition to the Ethernet port, presumably 10/100 rather than gigabit, a combined HDMI and RCA AV interface is provided.

Specifications listed for the Gosinggo GSG-TB-06 include:

  • Processor — Allwinner A10 (1x Cortex-A8 @ 1.0GHz) with Mali-400 GPU
