2.16-inch AMOLED SF32LB52X-based dev board offers LoRa, GNSS, and Bluetooth 5.3

Aug 11, 2026 — by Giorgio Mendoza 1,147 views

LILYGO’s T-Display SF32 is a compact development platform built around the SiFli SF32LB52X ultra-low-power AIoT microcontroller. The device combines a 2.16-inch 480 × 480 AMOLED touchscreen with dual Arm Cortex-M33 cores, an ePicasso 2.5D graphics engine, LoRa connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, and onboard battery power.

The SF32LB52X uses a big.LITTLE-style arrangement consisting of a 192MHz high-performance Cortex-M33 core and a 24MHz low-power core. LILYGO lists performance of up to 787 CoreMark for the HCPU, along with 576KB of SRAM. The board supplements the MCU with 16MB of flash and 8MB of PSRAM.

Graphics are handled by SiFli’s integrated ePicasso 2.5D engine, which drives a 2.16-inch AMOLED panel based on the CO5300 controller. The display provides a 480 × 480 resolution and is paired with a CST9220 capacitive-touch controller.

Wireless connectivity includes the SF32LB52X’s dual-mode Bluetooth 5.3 support, including BLE 5.3, Classic Bluetooth, and BLE Audio. Long-range wireless is provided by a Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver.

LILYGO’s product page and wiki also describe an L76K multi-constellation GNSS receiver with support for GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and QZSS. Motion sensing is handled by a Bosch BHI260AP, while environmental sensing uses a Bosch BME280 temperature and humidity sensor.

The company’s documentation is somewhat inconsistent regarding some of these peripherals. While the product page and wiki present GNSS, environmental sensing, and several additional functions as features of the T-Display SF32 platform, the GitHub hardware documentation identifies the L76K GNSS, BME280 sensor, keyboard interface, IR transmitter, vibration motor, and several other components as features associated with a separate T-SF32 keyboard board.

Audio support includes a 24-bit ADC/DAC, Bluetooth audio streaming, and a 3.5mm audio connector. The separate T-SF32 keyboard board is documented with additional hardware including an AW86224 vibration driver, VSMY14940 infrared transmitter, and an 8 × 8 matrix keyboard interface implemented with TCA8418 and AW21009 devices.

Expansion and storage options include a microSD slot supporting SDHC and SDXC media, four I2C channels, two SPI interfaces, UART, JTAG/SWD, and up to 45 GPIO signals. A USB Type-C connector is provided for power, programming, and charging.

The board includes a 470mAh 3.8V battery and uses an SGM41562B power-management IC with USB PD fast-charging support. LILYGO notes that the SF32LB52X requires more than 3.5V at startup and recommends implementing battery-voltage monitoring and low-battery shutdown in custom firmware to prevent excessive battery discharge.

The enclosure measures approximately 46 × 46 × 16mm. Side-mounted controls and connectors are complemented by an external antenna connector and an expansion header on the underside.

On the software side, the T-Display SF32 uses the SiFli SDK rather than the Arduino or ESP-IDF ecosystems. LILYGO provides a dedicated GitHub repository containing example projects, factory firmware, hardware files, schematics, datasheets, and build instructions.

Further Information

The LILYGO T-Display SF32 is currently listed for $59.04 through the company’s online store. The selectable version shown on the product page covers the 830–945MHz LoRa frequency range and includes the T-Display SF32 with antenna hardware.
