Acrosser unveiled a Fedora-ready Mini-ITX SBC that uses 2nd- or 3rd-gen Intel Core CPUs, and features Mini-PCIe and PCIe x16 expansion, plus dual GbE ports.

Older Intel Core processors are brought back to life with the Acrosser “AMB-IH61T3″ single board computer, which integrates an Intel LGA1155 socket that supports all 2nd or 3rd generation Cores, Pentiums, and Celerons with TDPs under 77 Watts. The old school feel is extended with an LPT port, dual VGA ports, and a PCI-Express x16 slot, which along with a Mini-PCIe slot handles expansion duty.

The 6.7 x 6.7-inch Mini-ITX SBC is designed principally for kiosks and industrial automation, says Acrosser. Like the company’s Intel Atom D2550 based AMB-D255T3 Mini-ITX board, the AMB-IH61T3 runs Fedora Linux in addition to Windows.

For a more modern feel, you can load up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM on the board. An LVDS interface is provided along with the pair of VGA ports, and storage is handled with dual SATA 2 ports. A pair of gigabit Ethernet ports is also provided.

The AMB-IH61T3 supplies eight USB 2.0 ports, four of them external coastline ports. Of the 10 serial ports, only one RS232 port is a coastline port. There’s also an internal RS232/485 interface, along with eight more RS232 connections. PS/2, digital I/O, and audio ports round out the I/O. A CPU-cooler module is said to be optional.

is there anything prohibiting this “Fedora-ready” device from being a “Linux-ready” device?
