EdgeX Foundry project releases Linux-on-Artik dev board

Arm’s Mbed Linux OS feeds into Pelion IoT strategy

Arm unveiled an “Mbed Linux OS” distro that mixes Yocto and Mbed code and works with its Pelion IoT Platform. Arm also extended Pelion to support x86 devices that use Intel’s SDO provisioning scheme.

Accelerated Linux boosts real-time performance on Zynq UltraScale+

Enea has launched a real-time “Accelerated Linux” version of its Enea Linux distro that targets the Zynq UltraScale+. The dual-OS hypervisor solution combines Enea Linux with an SMP micro-kernel executive.

AT&T releases white box spec for its Linux-based 5G routers

AT&T will deploy 60,000 5G routers compliant with a newly released white box spec hosted by the Open Compute Project. The routers will run Vyatta NOS Linux which will morph into an open source DANOS platform.

[Update Aug. 9] —EdgeX Foundry’s “California” release of its EdgeX IoT middleware adds security features and is rewritten in Go for faster boot and a smaller footprint, enabling it to run on the Raspberry Pi and other small footprint computers.
