Linux-based ML kit for AWS combines i.MX8 QuadMax with an industrial camera

Toradex has launched a $490 “Apalis AI Vision Starter Kit” that runs Torizon Linux and an optimized ML stack with AWS IoT Greengrass on its i.MX8 QuadMax based Apalis iMX8 module. The kit includes Toradex’s Ixora Carrier Board and an Allied Vision Alvium 1500 CSI2 camera.

Pine 64 previews RK3399 based HardRock64 SBC and SoEdge AI module

Pine64 unveiled a smaller, cheaper ($35 and up) “HardRock64” variant of its RK3399-based RockPro64 SBC that omits the PCIe and USB Type-C. There’s also a SoEdge module in the works with a dual -A35 RK1808 equipped with a 3-TOPS NPU.

Gateworks has launched a second-gen “GW16122 IoT Radio” mini-PCIe card for Sub-1GHz and 2.4GHz BT5 LE, Thread, and Zigbee communications. The TI CC1352P driven card has a 20dBm amplifier for a longer range plus up to 352KB flash and open source software.
